Phil Collins is hinting that a Genesis reunion might be in the cards, according to The Guardian. Back in 2009, following years of drumming, Collins underwent surgery to help fix his vertebrae, which was actually crushing his spinal cord and directly affecting the use of his hands. He last toured with Genesis in 2007 and his most recent solo dates were in 2010 behind his critically acclaimed solo covers set, Going Home. Collins revealed that new work is definitely on his mind, telling Germany's Bild am Sonntag, that his 12 and eight-year-old sons -- Nicholas and Matthew -- are eager to see him play with his former band: "I have started thinking about doing new stuff. (Maybe playing) some shows again, even with Genesis. Everything is possible. We could tour in Australia and South America. We haven't been there yet."

Collins' adult son, 37-year-old Simon Collins, the drummer/vocalist for the band Sound Of Contract spoke about his father's revived spirits, telling "He's great. He's doing really well. He’s starting to write again actually and spending more time with family, myself included. I think he's just enjoying taking a much needed, much deserved break from the insanity of going on tour for years on end. As much as that is his deepest passion as it is mine, it’s important to sit back sometimes and actually enjoy what you’ve achieved and spend some time with family."

We caught up with Phil Collins and asked him if there's anything left in the Genesis vault that might see a future release: "We have lots of rehearsal cassettes which are far more better than the records, actually. Maybe they'll come out one day. We've recorded every concert we've ever done, so there's a slew of things, I'm sure."
